I'm sitting in my front yard on the first perfect day in a long time. As
JPO and I e-wrestle for band width of my wireless internet signal, she looks past me and says, "There are a lot of bees over there", nodding to my hummingbird feeder. It has been up all winter with leftover sugar water in it. I'm reminded of my mother's second "mother-daughter talk" about the birds and the bees.
She told me, "When you are making your own hummingbird food, what you need to know is that if you make it too diluted it won't attract the birds. If you make it too strong, you will have a lot of bees around."
Ain't that the truth, Mom?
Thanks for the words of wisdom. I'm going to go work on my sugar/water ratio now.
